In a recent tweet, Gayton McKenzie, the prominent South African politician and leader of the Patriotic Alliance reacted to Trump cutting out South African aid.

McKenzie highlighted the ongoing struggles within the country, particularly the issues surrounding illegal immigration, which he believes exacerbate existing problems.

“Whenever South Africa is faced with a tragedy or crisis, the people celebrating are always these illegal foreigners, particularly Zimbabweans. Your time in SA is running out fast. You must start living legally in our country,” he tweeted,

The aid cut by Trump, which is part of a broader reevaluation of U.S. foreign assistance, has raised concerns among various South African leaders about the potential economic effects on vulnerable communities.
