The government of Zimbabwe has announced that Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba and Cde Chenhamo “Chen” Chakezha Chimutengwende, former Minister of Information, Posts and Telecommunications, will be honored with a burial at the National Heroes Acre in Harare on Wednesday.
Major General Siziba passed away at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks Camp Hospital last Wednesday at the age of 81.
The Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage issued a statement confirming the arrangements for the burial, emphasizing the significant contributions of both individuals to the nation.
In the statement, the ministry remarked, “There are two irreplaceable and indefatigable sons of the soil, Major General (Retired) Solomon Siziba and Cde Chen Chimutengwende.”
The burial ceremony will take place at the National Heroes Acre on January 22, 2025, as a tribute to their legacies and service to the country.
