Mary Mubaiwa’s attempt to secure a permanent halt on pending criminal trials due to medical reasons faced a setback  at the Harare High Court.

The hearing was disrupted when the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) failed to present the required evidence regarding an investigation into her medical condition.

Mubaiwa, a prominent figure, has been embroiled in legal battles that include charges of fraud and assault. Her legal team argued that her health issues should prevent her from continuing with the trials.

Mubaiwa is facing charges of attempting to kill Vice President Chiwenga while he was in hospital.

She is also battling a disease that has resulted in the amputation of her left leg and right leg
