As a token of apology businessman and philanthropist Sir Wicknel Chivhayo explained what had happened and gifted the woman $5000 as a way to apologize to her.
He expressed that he regretted the incident that had led to the woman being ridiculed on social media.
He explained that he meant to gift the money to airport staff after realizing that some did not work there he stopped.
He said he had no ill intention to have the lady insulted as she has been.
“I personally don’t know this woman, but I wish to extend my heartfelt apology for the public embarrassment she endured…,” he said.
