Dorcas Vambe wife to the gospel singer Mambo Dhuterere has appeared in court on allegations of fraud.
Mai Dhuterere is said to have duped a local politician of $16 000 in a car deal.
Mai Dhuterere with her brother convinced the complainant that they could purchase a car for him in Botswana as the singer had a waiver permit and could bring vehicles to Zimbabwe duty free.
In September this year the complainant is said to have been looking for a Toyota Hilux GD6 to purchase at a budget of US$ 16 000.
Mai Dhuterere with her brother Kudakwashe Vambe whose location is still unknown hatched a plan on how to get hold of the US$16 000.
Mai Dhuterere was able to give the complainant a Ford ranger after failing to deliver the car in two weeks as per agreement.
This Ford ranger had Botswana number plates and the complainant was promised a Mercedes Benz C200 later . The Ford was however impounded on the basis that it did not have a legal temporary permit.
Mai Dhuterere has been granted a bail of US$100.
