The Zimbabwean economy faces collapse as Mnangagwa fails to pay back local debt amounting to over 277 million that is now due. This comes as local foreign currency is not enough to cover imports with a shortfall of $300 million. The ZIG is due to crash sharply this month.

8. South Africa refuse to register their Spaza shops due to strict registration conditions and are requesting a 6 months extension. Out of 5000 forms distributed, none have been returned. The registration requirements have overwhelmed the CIPC. President Ramaphosa has given Spaza shops and food handling businesses 25 days to register in townships and rural areas. At least 1000 spaza shops, warehouses and supermarkets were shut down. 200 000 spaza shops were inspected. The CIPC has extended their working hours to include working on Saturdays. the registration requires the Spaza shops to get a re-zoning certificate from development planning, certificate of acceptability from environmental health and safety, and to register with the CIPC.
