A 47year old Tonderai Gabriel Mugabe has emerged claiming to be Robert Mugabe’s secret son.
He has approached the Zimbabwean courts demanding for a share in Mugabe’s estate.
The 47year old who is said to have been born in Chimoio base camp in 1977 to Hilda Maeka known as PaidaMoyo who was in a relationship with Robert Mugabe during the liberation struggle.
Tonderai has presented some documentation as a way to support his claims amongst them is an affidavit signed by daughter of Mugabe’s sister Lawrencia Mugabe. Bridget’s daughter Lawrencia confirms that he was indeed born at Chimoio Mozambique base camp and is the biological son of the late president Robert Gabriel Mugabe .
The relationship between his mother and Robert Mugabe is said to have ended after the bombing at Chimoio with Mugabe believing Hilda to have died.
In order to get a share of the inheritance Tonderai has taken legal actions against Bona Mugabe who is said to be the executor of her father’s Estate as well as the Master of Court.
The Mugabe family are still silent on the issue.
