Minister of Public Works and Local Government Daniel Garwe distanced himself from the ongoing demolition in Harare.
In an interview with ZBC Minister Garwe said they had issued a directive order that the council should stop with the ongoing demolition.

Minister Garwe first became the Minister of National housing and Social Amnesty in 2019.
