Death squads claim another victim: lawyer Elvino Dias shot dead 25 times this morning in Maputo

Death squads just killed the lawyer Elvino Dias. Elvino Dias was shot to death along Joaquim Chissano Ave in Maputo City. A total of 25 bullets were fired at the causal that was inside his car.
With Elvino Dias, Paulo Guambe, PODEMOS’ representative, was assassinated in these elections.
The perpetrators of the crime are unknown, but are believed to be part of the Death Squads, a special forces group serving the regime to silence those who refuse to adhere to heavy thinking and fight for change.
Elvino Dias is a lawyer and an advisor to the presidential candidate Venancio Mondlane and PODEMOS, the party that supports Mondlane’s candidacy.
Days ago, Venancio Mondlane, who claims victory in the elections of October 9, announced that he will appeal to the Constitutional Council to annul the elections and that he was gathering evidence to the effect. This work would be led by Elvino Dias, who made the regime tremble in the several battles it fought in defense of Venancio Mondlane and the Democratic Alliance Coalition.
The murder of the lawyer is being associated with the political context the country is living in. Days ago Elvino Dias made a report on the social network Facebook about a plan by the death squads to take the lives of him and Venancio Mondlane.
Elvino Dias is the second fatal victim of death squads in five years during election periods. On October 7, 2019, a week before this year’s General Elections, the squads took the life of activist and observer, Anastácio Matavel.
The murder of Elvino Dias comes days after the announcement of impeachment of the election results, but also the calling of a nationwide strike for Monday, October 21. ( In updating )
