Daily News editor Guthrie Munyuki has apologized to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for an advertisement mistakenly suggesting he had died.
The Financial Gazette published a Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) advertisement congratulating Mnangagwa on his 82nd birthday and concluded with the phrase, “May his soul rest in eternal peace”.
Munyuki and executives from Modus Media, the publishers of the Daily News and Financial Gazette, met with Mnangagwa and top government officials at State House to personally apologise.
The apology comes after armed men raided Munyuki’s home yesterday.
