ABSA top 200 leadership vote of no confidence in CEO Arrie Rautenbach
Absa top 250 leadership meeting at Houghton hotel was held on the 25th of July.
The meeting was called by the CEO Arrie Rautenbach who wanted to get support from the bank’s top executives.
The meeting of the ABSA leadership is reported to have passed a vote of no confidence in RautenBach over lack of transformation, Poor Governance and HR blunders.
The Leaders demanded a new CEO, while other demanded a Black African CEO.
The crisis comes over the payment of US Citizen: Cowyk Fox (CEO -Everyday Banking whose unit’s profits declined by 17%) for work done while he was resident in the US, which violates US tax laws when he became a US Citizen in June 2022. ABSA is not a registered employer with the US IRS. Rautenbach and Fox are close friends.
– The latest saga comes after failed attempts by Rautebach’s failed attempt to demote CEO: Africa Operations Saviour Chibiya whose unit’s operations increased by 27%.

Pfadzani Exodus has accused Londie London ( Londiwe Zulu) of making off with thousands worth of designer clothes without paying. Of the R17 000 worth of clothes, Londie sent her an ewallet of R3000. Pfadzani also says Londi lost a package worth R8500.
