A Bulawayo man, Bambanani Ndlovu, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering his wife, Happiness Ngwenya, in front of their two minor children.

The court heard that Ndlovu strangled his wife after a quarrel, then made their children sleep in the same blanket with her corpse.

The judge, Evangelista Kabasa, described the crime as painful and cruel and noted that gender-based violence is a scourge that needs to be addressed.
