Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart has slammed the judiciary for former second lady Mary Mubaiwa’s medical condition.
This comes after Mary had her left leg amputated as her health continues to deteriorate.
Taking to X, Coltart said Mary plight is a personal tragedy but in addition a national disgrace.
“Our judiciary is particularly to blame. Let us never forget that Ms Mubaiwa’s medical condition was resolvable had she been allowed foreign medical treatment which her local doctors told the courts was necessary”, said Coltart.
In 2022 Mary’s arm was amputated after she was diagnosed with acute lymphoedema which caused large open wounds on both forearms.
Mubaiwa surrendered her travel document as part of her bail conditions over charges that she faces including attempted murder.
