Bulawayo Mayor, David Coltart, has strongly condemned the detention of Jameson Timba, his son, and other CCC members arrested over the weekend.
Coltart criticized the ZANU PF regime’s actions as thoroughly illegal and draconian stating that they only serve to increase tension within Zimbabwe and undermine efforts to rejoin the international community, including readmission to the Commonwealth.
He urged the government to release the detainees immediately.
