The SANDF military top brass has denied that there exists a torture and murder unit within the SANDF.
The Press conference comes after the NGO, Open Secrets, revealed that such a units existed. Open secrets said there are four units that are acting as rogue units and which are linked to the murder of a Hawks investigator through sniper fire in 2022.
Also present at the meeting was the Military Intelligence Head, Lt General Mary Mxakato and the Chief of Staff, Lt General Michael Ramantswana.
CDF General Rudzani Maphwanya, said he was never appointed to lead a murder unit.
