President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced the retirement of Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda has retired.
The development was announced today when Mnangagwa addressed the first cabinet meeting following the August 23 general elections.
He subsequently appointed Dr Martin Rushwaya as the new Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet.
Sibanda, a former lecturer at the UZ’s history department retired after holding the influential post since 2003.
Dr Rushwaya was the Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet responsible for administration, finance and human resources prior to his latest appointment.
