LEAD President Linda Masarira has failed to raise US$20 000 to file her nomination papers at the High Court.
Taking to social media, Masarira said the nomination fees are exorbitant. She is falling short of ZWL$20 million to file her nomination papers.
Writing on Twitter, Linda said after her Presidential Candidate nomination papers were verified and accepted she tried looking for ZW cash, but I couldn’t get it.
Candidates vying for the presidential post are to pay a US$20 000 nomination fee or the equivalent in ZWL.
“The market is dry. It seems I am not the only candidate who had this predicament as I left others at the nomination court still battling with ZEC to accept their banks proof of payment”, she said.
