Mai TT has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with 6 months suspended on condition that she doesn’t commit a similar offense.
The socialite was sentenced for defaulting on 105 hours community service 8 years ago and for theft of trust property.
Magistrate Chibanda considered that the accused is a female offender who has two minor children.
The court said a fine was not legible as it would trivialize the offense adding that community service would have been appropriate but she has proven that she’s not eligible for community service.
