Zimdancehall legend Winky D has been crowned best African Dancehall Entertainer at this year’s 40th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) ceremony held in Kingston, Jamaica.
Winky D was contesting against Nigeria’s Patoranking, Ghana’s Shatta Wale, Stone Bwoy, as well as Sierra Leone’s Star Zee.
The award comes as Winky D’s music is receceiving massive backlash from ZANU PF for highlighting the country’s socio-economic and political problems.
