Zambia President, Hakainde Hichilema, has arrived back in Zambia from Namibia.

In a statement, Hichilema wrote :

We have concluded the Extraordinary Summit of the Troika of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security in Windhoek, Namibia.

We place peace and security at the top of our agenda, as instability anywhere is instability everywhere.

The citizens of the SADC look to us to safeguard the peace and stability of the region. At the end of the summit, we agreed in our joint communique that, among other resolutions, we will give dialogue a chance in addressing the challenges we are facing in our region.

We have since departed for Zambia and we thank our host and current Chairperson of the Troika, His Excellency Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, for his hospitality.

Hakainde Hichilema
President of the Republic of Zambia
