Former Zimbabwe first lady, Grace Mugabe, has been summoned to appear before Chief Zvimba on the 20th of May 2021 to face charges relating to Mugabe’s burial inside his rural house.
The complainant in the matter is Tinos Manongovera.
The letter from Chief Zvimba , which was delivered to Grace by hand reads as follows:
You are hereby summoned to Chief Zvimba’s court at Gonzo Guzha hall, Murombedzi Growth point, on the 20th of May 2021 at 9:30 am to face the following charges:
a. It was a taboo for you to bury the body of Robert Mugabe inside a house. You did not properly dispose of Mugabe’s belongings as per traditional customs.
b. All of Mugabe’s belongings were supposed to be gathered and distributed/preserved as per traditional customs.
c. I want Mugabe to be re-buried as per traditional customs as per the instructions of the family and Mugabe’s late mother.
d. You may face a fine of 5 cows and a goat if you are found guilty.

- If you dont appear before the court , a decision will be made in your absence.
- If you have any other queries, you may raise them in person on the day of the hearing.
