French fashion designer Pierre Cardin(98) has died, his family confirmed.
The family issued a statement saying Cardin is no more but above all they are proud of his tenacious ambition.
“It is a day of great sadness for all our family. Pierre Cardin is no more,” the statement said.
Mr Cardin is hailed a pioneer in the fashion industry with a career of more than 60 years.
He was the first designer to sell clothing in department stores late in the 1950’s. He was also the first to expand his line into fragrances, accessories and food.
