Tendai Biti has been granted bail at the Harare Magistrate’s court this morning.
Giving more details on the charges, MDC Alliance spokeswoman, Fadzai Mahere said Biti was arrested after he went to the police to clear his name at around 11am.
She said he was not summoned by the police and was surprised when he was told that he could not leave.
Mahere said Biti did not assault Tatiana but had an altercation with her in court after they had a verbal exchange.
Mahere said the MDC Alliance stands in solidarity with Tendai Biti.
She said the charges against Biti are trumped up and politicised because the police arrested Biti after ZANU PF spokesman, Patrick Chinamasa, commanded them to do so.
