ED Mnangagwa has reached agreement on a broad set of issues with Matabeleland pressure groups and Chiefs on Gukurahundi.
Implementation on the issues raised will begin in September and will include the following issues:
– Exhumations and reburials
– Birth Certificates
– Death Certificates
Other issued that werw discussed include
– Corruption in District councils
– Matabeleland Zambazi Water Project
– Youth Empowerment
Groups that will be involved in the implementation of the agreement will be the Chiefs, Matabeleland collective, the National Peace and Reconciliation commission and the Zimbabwe government.
Local Councils
Mnangagwa spoke with the local council and asked them to put in place a plan of action on the water crisis that has affected Bulawayo for over 2 years.
Bulawayo has been affected by a severe typhoid outbreak that has claimed many lives.
