Mary Chiwenga is an ex model and former patron and chair trust of the miss Zimbabwe trust. She retired from the position in February 2018.
She was married to Shingi Kawondera a former Zimbabwean footballer before she married the Vice President. She recently broke the internet after she was arrested by ZACC on fraud misrepresentation and money laundering charges.
Mary is 36 year old. She is the daughter of Kenny Mubaiwa who is the Chairman of dynamos football club. She is a mother to 6 children.
Mary is also a chairperson to an NGO Musha Mukadzi Zimbabwe. She got married to VP Chiwenga in 2011. It is reported that he paid $47,000 bride price. Other sources were saying the two have already been staying together before he paid her bride price.
They welcomed their first child on 15 November 2012. In July 2019 Mary was sued by ex husband Shingi Kawondera. He said Mary forged their divorce papers and he is apparently suing her with $700,000.
VP Chiwenga ex with Joseline Chiwenga is also suing her for breaking her 12 year marriage to VP. She is suing her with $40 million saying Mary Chiwenga marriage to VP was planned while she was still with him.
Currently Mary is in police custody after she was arrested on charges of fraud, money laundering and attempted murder. These charges are still pending judgement as investigations are still in order.
