A Young Zimbabwean woman, Vongai Matsikite, drank poison at the doorstop of her boyfriend, Columbus Chikowore, after being denied access to her baby.
The boyfriend then disappeared with the child and hid her at his uncle ‘s house in Mpumalanga, 400km away.
Vongai Was on Life support from 3 December until it was turned off on 12 December.
Her attempts to get assistance at Sunnyside Police Station had failed when she took the drastic action.
