POLITICAL activist Jim Kunaka appeared before the Harare Magistrates Court over the weekend, facing charges of inciting public violence.

Kunaka, who was not asked to plead, appeared before provincial magistrate Mrs Sharon Rakafa. Kunaka was arrested after he went to report as he usually does on a weekly basis at the Harare Central Police Station.

The State opposed bail, and he was remanded in custody until tomorrow for a full bail hearing.

According to prosecutor Ms Dzidzai Josiah, Kunaka, along with accomplices already on remand and others still at large, allegedly conspired to incite the public to participate in an unlawful gathering.

The gathering was scheduled for October 17, 2025, at Robert Gabriel Mugabe Square in Harare and another in Mutare.
