Five members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), including a female soldier, have been arrested with two undocumented Zimbabwean nationals after they were allegedly caught trying to steal a consignment of illicit cigarettes near the Limpopo River. The seven suspects, aged 26 to 42, were arrested in a joint operation by the police and military intelligence. They are facing charges of corruption, possession of illicit cigarettes, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and defeating the ends of justice. Mabuza daughter, Tamara Silinda, has filed an urgent high court application, trying to stop Alexander Forbes from paying the entire R44-million to his wife, Nonhlanhla Patience Mnisi, in her court papers, argues that Mabuza was also married to her mother, Emunah Silinda, in customary law. She claims that the Patience obtained her marriage certificate fraudulently after Mabuza’s death.
