Award-winning investigative journalist Simba Chikanza has stirred fresh controversy after revealing that former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi once personally confided to him that he had been poisoned.
Chikanza, who has long tracked the political and health struggles of Mzembi, says he will not merely tweet about the matter but will go on LIVE video at 7 PM (Zimbabwe time) to present what he calls āinvestigated evidenceā surrounding the former ministerās ordeal.
āI share what he told me himself, not what Iāve heard outside. I reveal not a Twitter post, but investigated evidence, which I will present LIVE for the public to engage with,ā Chikanza declared.
The disclosure comes amid renewed debate over Mzembiās prolonged legal and political troubles, as allies and critics clash over whether he has been unfairly targeted or betrayed by former comrades.
