A recent event in Mazowe, Zimbabwe, focused on a title deeds handover and the launch of A1 Productivity Booster Kits. The A1 Productivity Booster Kits will be made up of:
Recipients: Under the initial phase, 10,000 A1 farmers will benefit from the program.
Content of the Kits: The kits are essentially irrigation systems. They include “pumping units, electric motors, pumps, hydrants, and sprinklers, among other items.”
Funding: The program is supported by a loan facility. Each participating farmer will receive a loan of US$6,000 to establish the necessary irrigation infrastructure to cover up to three hectares of land.
Nearly US$2 billion will be spent on the booster kits as the program is rolled out across the country over the next few years.
