Prominent journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has shared a thought-provoking message directed at Zimbabweans in the diaspora, reminding them of the importance of foresight, legacy, and dignity in life and death.
In a reflection posted on X, Chin’ono cautioned against living glamorous lives abroad while neglecting long-term considerations back home.
“When we leave Zimbabwe and go abroad whether to England, America, or even South Africa and we start making real money, we must never forget that the higher we climb, the greater the expectations placed upon us,” he wrote.
Chin’ono said individuals with prominent names, nationally and internationally, should ensure their lives reflect the stature they hold, not only while alive but also in how they are remembered.
The award-winning journalist emphasized that resources come with responsibility and foresight, urging Zimbabweans to avoid allowing their “last chapter to betray the story” of their lives.
