More than 20 years ago: Titus Murefu, an AFM pastor, agrees to buy a piece of land from a man named Errol Tarr.

Initial Payment: Titus Murefu pays a deposit of US$135.00 toward the purchase price.

Within one year of the agreement: The deadline for Murefu to pay the full purchase price of the land expires, and he fails to do so.

February 21, 2004: Tadius Murefu’s submissions state that Titus Murefu made a payment of US$135 000.00 as a “deposit.” The balance of the full purchase price, US$121 000.50, was to be paid to the plaintiff on or before June 30, 2004.

June 30, 2004: The defendant fails to pay the balance, leading to the cancellation of the agreement.

Court Application: In a court application, HCH387/124, Erroll Tarr, represented by his company Mead-Owlea Private Limited, once sued Titus Murefu. The goal was to cancel the agreement and compel Murefu to pay the outstanding balance. Tafadzwa Patience Chimunya and Cynthia Gambiza are suing Murefu.
