
The new managing director appointed at Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) is Mr. Urvesh J. Desai. His appointment is effective from September 1, 2025. Mr. Desai brings extensive leadership experience, having held senior executive roles in Ghana and Zambia across various sectors. He has a strong background in financial strategy, corporate governance, and organizational transformation.
His leadership is expected to be pivotal in advancing ZACL’s vision of positioning Zambia as a regional aviation hub. Mr. Desai will focus on modernizing infrastructure, enhancing customer experience, expanding connectivity, and driving sustainable growth in the aviation sector. He also aims to support post-pandemic recovery, optimize airport investments, and increase non-aeronautical revenue streams. The ZACL Board is confident that his expertise will help the corporation scale new heights and align with national tourism and development goals.
