Former Miss Universe Nigeria contestant Chidimma Adetshina has left Nigeria and returned to South Africa following a dispute with the pageant’s organisers.
The rift reportedly began after Chidimma defended another contestant whom the organisers had allegedly tried to block from competing. She claims that after representing Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant, she was “dumped” and that promises made to her were never fulfilled.
Speaking on her experience, Chidimma said she has been through challenges she “did not deserve” and hopes the matter will be resolved. She also suggested that she never fully fit into Nigerian cultural expectations.
