The Catholic University in Zimbabwe has started the 2025 recruitment for courses and has uploaded a video showcasing its graduation ceremony.
On 9 May, 2025, the Catholic University of Zimbabwe (CUZ) celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2024 at its annual graduation ceremony. The event highlighted academic success, the conferral of degrees and diplomas, and the university’s unwavering commitment to the values of faith, integrity, and leadership.
University History
The Catholic University of Zimbabwe is a private university in Harare, founded under the auspices of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops’ Conference. Its establishment followed Zimbabwe’s independence, with a mission to provide higher education rooted in Christian values. CUZ strives to combine academic rigor with moral and ethical formation, preparing students to serve both the local community and the broader region.

Leadership
The Vice Chancellor is the university’s chief academic and administrative leader, responsible for guiding its vision and academic direction. Professor Benny Munyaradzi Nyambo was appointed as Vice Chancellor Designate and has joined CUZ in that capacity in April 2025.
A New Chapter in Leadership
The 2025 graduation ceremony was marked by the installation of the new Vice Chancellor. During the ceremony, the incoming leader pledged to uphold the university’s mission and values:
“Professor, I install you as Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of Zimbabwe and hereby give you tools of the trade that will guide you in executing your duties… It is a profound honor to serve in a community committed to fostering not only academic excellence but also the values of faith and service.”
