Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis has publicly condemned the baseless “white genocide” narrative and voiced her support for the people of South Africa, calling for an honest reckoning with the country’s racial past.

In a striking Instagram post, Davis denounced the narrative as both misleading and dangerous. She shared a CNN clip featuring Abby Phillip, who debunked the theory by pointing out that the majority of victims in South Africa’s farm attacks are Black, not white.

“Spent a lot of time in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, and Durban. There is no argument. There is no justification. I’ve seen the ravages of apartheid. I’ve seen the townships — ALL Black. Full stop,” Davis wrote.

She concluded with a message of solidarity: “I stand with my brothers and sisters in South Africa. NGIYAKUTHANDA!” (meaning “I love you” in Zulu).
