Afro-fusion musician Ashton “Mbeu” Nyahora is facing an arrest warrant following a New Year’s Day car accident in Harare, where he stands accused of negligent driving.
The incident involved Mbeu’s Toyota Aqua and a Peugeot 407 driven by Patikayi Murisa. Murisa claims he has spent the past four months trying to resolve the matter, but Mbeu has allegedly ignored all attempts at communication.
“It has been five months of hell for me. Since the accident, he hasn’t answered my calls,” Murisa lamented, expressing disappointment over Mbeu’s lack of accountability. “He’s a public figure, but he’s acted like I don’t exist.”
Initially, Mbeu cited health reasons for his unavailability and directed Murisa to his wife, Faith Mashami. However, Mashami later stated she was no longer in contact with Mbeu, and encouraged Murisa to reach out to him directly.
With no resolution in sight, Murisa turned to the police.
“I had no choice because they agreed to repair my car, which is still undrivable and parked at home,” he said.
When approached for comment, Mbeu acknowledged the delay but insisted the issue was being addressed.
“I know the guy, and we are actually talking,” he said.
Shortly after the accident, Mbeu shared his experience on social media, describing it as a near-death experience.
“On January 1st, 2025 just a day before my second-born’s birthday I was in a terrible accident. God gave me another chance,” he wrote. “I will rise again and even stronger. Mbeu ndini!”
