Constable Amanda Katanha, a dedicated officer stationed at ZRP Mazowe, tragically lost her life after being struck by a Toyota Probox vehicle on April 12, 2025.
The accident is said to have occurred at approximately 6:40 PM near the 17-kilometer peg along the Mazowe-Centenary Road.
Constable Katanha, along with her colleagues, were said to be walking on the extreme side of the road after finishing her shift at Dowkins Farm in Concession.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle, bearing registration number AGP 8475, was carrying three passengers at the time of the incident.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, but despite their best efforts, Constable Katanha was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The driver of the Toyota Probox and the three passengers are currently assisting police with their inquiries.
