Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, who gained mainstream notoriety through the trap singles “Type of Way and “Flex” has died aged 34.

The cause of his death is not known, with local medical authorities saying an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

Quan’s girlfriend, Amber Williams, is the one who found him unresponsive in their home and called 911 call.

He began his career in 2011 and first found mainstream success with his 2013 hit “Type of Way.”

Quan was born Dequantes Lamar in Atlanta, Georgia in October 1989. He attended Ronald McNair Sr High School and as a young man aspired to become a professional baseball player.

Lamar left behind four sons.
