Kapfupi’s Marriage To Mai Ngaa Collapses

The marriage of Zimbabwean comedian and musician Kapfupi (Freddy Manjalima) and his wife, known as Mai Nga (Precious Kabrito), has collapsed due to alleged cheating.

This news comes despite previous reports in February 2024 of the couple celebrating their union and Kapfupi “putting a ring on it,” suggesting a recent breakdown in the relationship. The pair, well-known for their stage partnership in comedy and music, including the hit song “Mai Nga,” had been together for many years.

• Car Gift from Wicknell Chivayo: In June 2025, the couple was gifted a Toyota Aqua and cash by controversial businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo. The handover made headlines when Kapfupi reportedly arrived at the dealership intoxicated, causing a snag in the process. Following this incident, Kapfupi reportedly vowed to quit drinking.
• Public Appearances: In June 2025, pictures of the couple looking “stunning” were circulated on social media platforms like Facebook.
• Marriage Status Rumors: While the couple officially married in February 2024, rumors of marital problems and potential separation due to alleged cheating have circulated, particularly in late 2025. There was a denial of similar rumors back in December 2020, which claimed Mai Nga had been “snatched by a wealthy Harare man”. 

This follows reports circulating on social media including WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter that Kapfupi was robbed of his dear wife by a prominent businessman who has been offering them financial assistance.

Car Gifts Drama:

• Initial Gift: Kapfupi was initially gifted a Toyota Aqua by Chivayo sometime before late 2024.
• Accident and Second Appeal: After the first car was damaged beyond repair in an accident (which was reportedly alcohol-related), Kapfupi publicly appealed to Chivayo for a replacement.
• Second Gift: In June 2025, Chivayo generously responded by promising another new Toyota Aqua, plus an additional $3,000 in cash ($2,000 for personal use and $1,000 for car insurance).
• Collection Snag: The second gift collection made headlines because Kapfupi reportedly arrived at the car dealership intoxicated, causing a temporary delay in receiving the car and cash. He later collected the car and cash and vowed to quit drinking.
