1. Munyaradzi Mwedziwendira, the man who beat up Tongai Mnangagwa has been released on bail. He will be sentenced on Monday. His employee, Jasper Cephas Kuziva was also arrested and appeared in court for possession of unlicenced substances.
2. Recalled CCC MPs, Gift Ostallos Siziba and Amos Chibaya tried to go back and contest as members of the CCC. The judge dismissed the case after Tshabangu’s lawyer showed the court the letter of resignation by Chamisa. Chamisa had filed an affidavit in support of the re-called MPs and councillors. The candidates were removed after Tshabangu approached the courts soon after the by-elections were announced.

1. SADC dealing with Cholera. International agencies now involved. 5. Today, 1st February 2024, His Excellency Mr. Elias M. Magosi, the Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) met with the Ambassador of the United States to Botswana, His Excellency Ambassador Howard A. Van Vranken at the SADC Secretariat Head Office in Gaborone, Botswana. Amongst a number of topics, the parties exchanged insights on peace and security issues within the SADC region and the preparedness of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) in observing the upcoming elections in the region.
