Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has extended the Zimbabwe exemption permits to November 2025.
At least 178,000 Zimbabwe nationals will benefit from this move, allowing them to work and live in South Africa.
This comes afte the High Court had already extended the ZEP to 28 June 2024.
Meanwhile, holders will not be entitled to apply for permanent residence status and the new permits will not be renewable.
