Zimbabwe – Military Arrests (The People’s Army)

Around 65 Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) soldiers were arrested in Harare.

They are accused of distributing anonymous leaflets critical of Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3).

The leaflets appeared at military barracks between June 10–11, 2026, due to deep dissatisfaction among troops.

The group behind the pamphlets calls itself “The People’s Army.”

Detainees are being held at 2 Brigade Headquarters, Cranborne Barracks (including guard commanders and sentries on duty).

They are currently undergoing interrogation to force confessions; more arrests are expected.

Dr. Robbie Mupawose: Granted a state-assisted funeral. He was a prominent agricultural expert, former Permanent Secretary for Lands and Agriculture, and chaired TIMB and ARDA. He passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at age ~90 after illness.

Victor Matemadanda: His body has been moved to Sanyati to lie in state until the morning.
