195

WATCH LIVE as Gambakwe unpacks the extortion taking place in Mnangagwa’s office and the Zimbabwe Ministry of Finance. This has resulted in the arrest of former CZI boss, Joseph Kanyekanye.

TIMELINE: March – April 2026

Parties involved:

  • Joseph Kanyekanye – former CZI President (in custody)

  • His co-conspirators – not yet named or arrested

  • Shar Prashanta – director, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Distributors (PCD)

  • Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion – officials involved

  • Jemina Capital – CBZ account used to receive funds

What happened:

  • Kanyekanye and his unarrested co-conspirators forge a letter appearing to come from the President’s Office.

  • The letter tricks Ministry officials into releasing US$1.8 million into PCD’s account.

  • PCD director Prashanta then moves US$884,641 to his lawyer’s trust account.

  • Kanyekanye pressures Prashanta and the lawyer, demanding US$663,480 for fake “Independence Day celebrations” — threatening to cancel state funding if refused.

  • The lawyer’s trust account transfers US$663,480.75 into a Jemina Capital CBZ account (number: 10825844540029).

  • Kanyekanye and his co-conspirators launder the money through several third-party accounts to hide its origin.

Result as of May 2026:

  • No stolen funds recovered.

  • Kanyekanye remains in custody.

  • Co-conspirators — not named, not arrested.

NOTES

Saturday, 9 May 2026 — The Fatal Accidents

  • Late afternoon: Beauty Shoperai, her husband Paul Masunda, and their children go to an informal bus stop on the N1 highway near Bela-Bela. Beauty and their 15-month-old baby, Paul Jr., board a bus to Zimbabwe to visit her ailing mother.

  • Minutes later: Paul Masunda (44) and their 14-year-old son cross back over the highway after seeing them off. Paul is struck and killed instantly by a vehicle driven by an off-duty police officer — right in front of his teenager.

  • The panic: The 14-year-old calls his mother on the bus in a panic. Shoperai forces the bus driver to stop in the middle of the highway. She wraps Paul Jr. onto her back and sprints across the freeway to reach her husband.

  • The second impact: Before reaching her husband, Shoperai and the baby are struck by a black Audi SUV — the official VIP convoy vehicle carrying South African Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi. Both die instantly. Minister Motsoaledi remains on the scene for two hours, visibly shaken.
