Miniyothabo “Minnie” Baloyi-Chiwenga, wife to Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, marked her 49th birthday with a prayerful reflection that has drawn attention for its emphasis on faith, hope, and moral duty.
Baloyi, whose name means “Day of Happiness”, used the occasion to reaffirm her personal commitment to Christian values and service to others.
“As I grow older, I pray that I become that person who brings happiness and hope to those around me, be the light in this dark world, the positivity in a negative world, the silver lining in the darkest clouds, the voice of reason in an unreasonable world. I want to be the voice for the voiceless, stand for what is right and just, live a Christ-like life, and be the defender of Christianity always,” she said in her statement.

Her remarks, shared on her birthday, reflect a strong sense of purpose and have been widely noted for highlighting the role of faith and moral leadership at both personal and national levels.
As the Second Lady of Zimbabwe, Baloyi has often been seen alongside the Vice President at official events, but her birthday message offered a rare glimpse into her personal convictions and spiritual outlook.
