Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has dispelled any lingering rumors of tension with Afrobeats superstar Davido, revealing during a recent Instagram Live that she has no personal issues with him and is open to a future collaboration.
“I don’t have any problem with Davido,” she said. “If he wants to work, I’m open to it.”
The statement comes amid longstanding fan speculation about a perceived divide between the two stars, especially given Tems’ closer association with fellow Afrobeats icon Wizkid. Their global hit Essence remains one of the genre’s biggest crossovers to date, fueling assumptions about her camp’s allegiance.
Tems’ manager previously addressed the topic in an interview, explaining why a collaboration with Davido had not been seriously considered before. According to him, it was never about animosity but more about artistic direction.
He also noted that Tems’ team naturally gravitates toward artists like Wizkid, just as Davido frequently works with Kizz Daniel, an artist with whom he shares strong musical chemistry.
Despite these stylistic differences, Tems’ latest comment may pave the way for a future collaboration that could surprise fans and bridge two of Afrobeats’ most dominant forces.
