South African comedian Trevor Noah has made history as first black person to win an Emmy award for the outstanding talk series.
The category was first introduced in 2015 .
Noah said: “It’s amazing that I get to be a part of this journey. It feels like being part of a winning football team”.
The victory comes after Noah’s sixth nomination in the category, in which he did not win the previous five nominations.
