Mabel Nederlof Sithole has been appointed as the Director of Programs at the renowned Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development.

The center announced the new development in a statement on X.

“We are delighted to welcome @mabelsithole as our new Director of Programs…Ms. Sithole will add great momentum to our mission to advance women’s #leadership across #Africa.”

Citizens Coalition for Change Member of Parliament Fadzayi Mahere took to X Space yo cogratulate Sithole.

“Congratulations @mabelsithole ! Wishing you all the very best!”, she wrote.

The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center (the EJS Center) has been specifically designed to house the premier institution dedicated to advancing women’s aspirations for development in Africa.

Mabel has been designing and implementing leadership development programs for over 7 years, and has over 15 years of experience working in human rights, public policy, and development in Africa.

She is a member of civil society groupings in Southern Africa.

Sithole has co-authored a number of publications, including Navigating Turbulence in Zimbabwe, with Prof. Brian Raftopolous and Dr. Godfrey Kanyenze. She recently co-authored a book with Richard Calland, The Presidents: From Mandela to Ramaphosa, Leadership in the Age of Crisis.
