Flamboyant Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo continues to dominate social media conversations across Africa, following a viral frenzy stemming from unverified claims questioning the circumstances of his death. Originally reported to have died with his wife, Lucy Muteke, in a helicopter crash on October 8, 2026, social media users, particularly in Kenya, have fueled intense speculation within the last 72 hours, suggesting Chivayo may have faked his own death or was deliberately targeted. Adding to the online buzz, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa reportedly made comments mocking Apostle Talent Chiwenga in connection with Chivayo’s death, further amplifying the discourse. The high-profile incident even impacted state affairs, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s planned helicopter travel grounded due to adverse weather conditions just days after the crash, forcing him to undertake a lengthy 520km road journey to Mutare.
