Sensei Tendai (Tendai Maduwa) released a statement about a video showing him confronting TTI parking marshals in Bulawayo CBD.
-
What happened:
-
He was driving with blinkers on, trying to park on Five Street near the NRZ building.
-
A car was backing out of the spot he wanted.
-
Officers knocked on his window, said they had clamped his moving car, and accused him of obstructing traffic.
-
When he asked why, they replied arrogantly (“Mudhara we don’t care”) and demanded money to remove the clamp.
-
-
His concerns: Clamping a moving vehicle is dangerous—he could have hit the officer, other cars, or pedestrians.
-
Resolution:
-
Three supervisors apologized and promised to discipline their staff.
-
He had a long talk with them about stopping public abuse and providing proper training.
-
He offered free training sessions to help them improve.
-
He considered suing TTI but chose not to because the matter was handled amicably.
